To the Family of Charlie Cusack

The entire Bland family mourns the passing of Charlie. Your father/step-father/ grandfather was an admired and illustrious independent geologist, great host and friend whose colorful life was very well encapsulated in the obituary by Charles and all those who helped him get it done.
One of our fondest memories is of being hosted by your grandmother/great-grandmother Ann in her home in Cuero. She, with your dad, my dad, your Uncle Mickey and my son Bill (William W. Bland II), enjoyed her hospitality, did some bird hunting and planned drilling a “family” well together.
What a great way to teach us all about life by doing business on a one-on-one personal basis as we were put here on earth to do.
The Bland family truly mourns the loss of Charlie Cusack, a leader we should all follow.
May God welcome Charlie and bless his entire family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Charley's passing. I'm one of his extended family members that he visited in Cascade, Colorado. My mom, JoAnne Cusack Howard, was Charley's cousin and I had the privilege of getting to know him when I was a teenager growing up in Nacogdoches, Texas. I absolutely adored Uncle Charley--he added a vivid hue to what was already a very colorful family! My prayers are with you as you grieve his passing and celebrate the life he lived and loved.

I met Charlie 28 years ago at the Tejas Vaqueros trail ride. Charlie always had a warm smile and warm heart for everyone. I never heard him complain 1 time in 28 years. A true gentleman, Vaquero, horseman and great friend. God bless and God's speed Charlie.

I met Big Charles about 20 years ago at Lil Charles' and Lisa's home during the Super Bowl. He happened to know my (late) father from the Houston Club and he shared with me a story my father told him about his boxing days in high school/college. Both of us laughed so hard we had tears rolling down our faces. I immediately was hooked on his laughter and love of story telling. I will forever love him. He brought my dad to life that night after being gone for many, many years. I love YOU Big Charles/Mr. Cusack...for ever and a day!
You are in a better place now and if you happen to run in to my dad, Raleigh Trotter...tell him hello for me and that I love him. I wrap my arms around all of you right now...Cusacks and Steelys. Love ya'll!!!

Mr. C was a great family man and one of the most genuine, kind, considerate, and fun loving people that I have ever known. Sharp as a tack and storyteller extraordinaire til the end. One of the best ever. RIP Mr. Cusack.
