Joseph Parks

Joseph “Joe” Henry Parks, 75, died suddenly on Sunday, October 8, 2017.

He was born on April 6, 1942 in Houston, Texas to Henry and Christine Parks.  Joe graduated Lamar High School in 1960 and went on to graduate The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Business Administration.  In 1970, he earned his CPA certification and grew a very successful, private accounting practice.  Throughout his career, Joe was very active in leadership roles both locally and nationally with BetterInvesting.  His other interests included gardening, playing golf, traveling, hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. Joe was also active in his church, St Theresa Catholic Church. 

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and his stepdaughter Debbie Galyean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Dolores Parks; his children: Marianna Childress and husband Ricky; son Joe Parks, Jr. and wife Kim; five grandchildren: Cameron and Lauren Childress; Thomas, Abbey, and Andrew Parks; his stepdaughters: Kelly Bruce and Denise Eskins.  Additionally, Joe is also survived by his brother Robert Parks and his children Jennifer Grammer, Robert Parks, Jr., and Michael Parks, as well as Liz Mobley and her daughter Leah.

All are invited to a reception with the family on the afternoon of October 17th from half past four until half past six o’clock at St Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell Street, Houston, Texas 77007.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers during Tuesday’s services are Thomas Parks, Cameron Childress, Ricky Childress, Michael Parks, Robert Parks, Jr., and Gene Bearden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joe’s memory be given to St Theresa Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
