Norma Miller Williams

December 12, 1934 ~ May 31, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Norma Miller Williams, 82, died on May 31, 2017.  She was born December 12, 1934 in Corsicana, Texas to Norma Sterling Miller and Cleo Gunter Miller.  She was the granddaughter to Governor and Mrs. Ross Sterling.

Norma graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, Texas, in 1952, where she excelled as a “Choralette.”  Norma attended Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas. She also attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Norma was active with the Women’s Institute and the Assistance League of Houston.  She worked with the Butler & Binion law firm as its client coordinator.  In her retirement, Norma remained active as a volunteer with the Bluebird Circle.  She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother (“NorNor”), a loyal friend to many and a keen intellect with a kind heart.

She is survived by her daughter Norma Williams Peddie, son Edward J. Williams, IV, his wife Andrea Williams, their children Edward J. Williams, V and Gage Louise Williams, her son Walter V. Williams, his wife Martha Williams and their children Vivian Elizabeth Williams and Charlotte Ann Williams.  She is also survived by her sisters Marianne M. Parish of Glen Rose, Texas and Carol M. Perkins, her husband Willie Perkins of Willow Springs, Missouri; nieces and nephews Donna Parish Buckner, Earl K. Parish, Jr., Ross G. Parish and nieces Katherine Duncan and Dr. Alexandra Miller, DVM. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Walter Miller and Sterling G. Miller.  

Following in a private burial at Glenwood Cemetery, the family will receive friends at the Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama, Houston, Texas 77098 on Monday, June 5, 2017 at one o’clock in the afternoon.

The family wishes to thank Charlene Stubblefield for her care and dedication over the last months of Norma’s life.
