Tribute

Alice Lee Visage Engelbrink, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, stepmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Thursday, Sept 6, 2018 in Houston, Texas.  Alice dedicated her life to her family.  Her cheerfulness and joy was contagious to anyone she met.  She enjoyed nothing more than hosting large gatherings and spending time with her loving family.   She loved playing bridge, reading, taking bike rides, going on long walks, or just simply sitting and talking with family or friends.  Alice was born in Laredo, Texas on March 10, 1947. She graduated from St. Mary’s Girl Academy and the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.  In addition, she attended the University of Houston prior to receiving her CPA.  Her joy for life was also evident in her business; she served hundreds of clients for over 30 years and did so with a smile that will be remembered always.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Engelbrink, son Eric Engelbrink, son Ethan Engelbrink, his wife Julia and his family. Stepdaughters, Laurel Martin and Sharon Fisher and her daughter Jennifer and her two sons, Miles and Mason, and sister Anita Becker and her husband Jerry and their two daughters, Jennifer­­­­­­­­ May and Laura McMillan and her husband Thomas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel J. Visage and Mary Alice Nolan Visage, and by her brother, Jack Visage.

Services will be Thursday, September 13, at ten o’clock in the morning at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas.  A reception will immediately follow the service for friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any memorial gifts be made to the Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Herman to further advance their research in brain tumors.
