Alice Mahon Jenkins

Alice, known to many as Sissy, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a proud fourth- generation Houstonian and a cherished member of Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Houston. Sissy worked for many years at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and she could often be found walking the galleries after work. She lived in many different places, including southern California and South Carolina, but she always considered Houston her true home.

Sissy’s most treasured moments were spent taking her grandsons on vacations to the mountains or beaches each year. She will be greatly missed by her grandson Will; her daughter Diana and son-in-law Don McLoud; her son John and daughter- in-law Sarah Jenkins; her ex-husband, David; her sister, Nancy Mahon Guest; Nieces and Nephews John Rushmore Guest and wife, Roxane Newman Guest, Rhonda Alice Guest Barclay and husband, Byron K. Barclay, Thomas Mahon Guest, Gina Lee Guest Vosko and husband, Spencer Vosko, and James Lee Guest Jr., along with many more cherished family members including her grand-nieces, grand-nephews and many friends. Sissy was also a friend of Bill Wilson, and will miss seeing all her friends in meetings each week. Sissy is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Robert Austin McLoud, and her parents, John Austin and Alice Shepherd Mahon.
