Ashwani Kumar

Mr. Ashwani Kumar, known to many as Ashi, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2021 in his home surrounded by those he loved. Ashi was predeceased by his father, Mr. Vidyasagar and mother, Mrs. Sita Devi.  He is survived by his wife, Kamna Kumar, daughter, Richa, her husband, Neeraj Hingorani and children, Kush and Shrey, son, Abhinav, his wife, Karina, and daughter, Camilla, and brother, Ashok Bhalotra, his wife, Marianne and children Roshan and Chetan. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews and family and friends around the globe.  Ashi was born on September 2, 1943 in pre-partition India.  He grew up in India and moved to the United States in 1967. His final resting place was his home in Sugar Land.

We will cherish his memories and incredible journey.  Ashi and, his wife, Kamna were best friends and partners in life and in business.  Their love for each other is one for the books – her dedication to him until the last minute was unwavering and his adoration and care of her was unmatched.   Ashi lived life to the fullest and on his own terms.  He took challenges in a stride.  His zest for life was infectious.  He loved to travel and you would never find him saying no to a get together with family and friends.   His generosity was unparalleled and he welcomed everyone into his home with open arms.   

Ashi loved his children and was there to support them in every way possible.  As Nana and Dada, he doted on his grandchildren.  He was a loving cousin, fun-loving uncle to his nephews and nieces, and a great friend.  We will miss his amazing spirit, laughter and joy for living, but we are incredibly grateful for the time we had with him -- our memories of him will live on forever.
