Barbara V. Coleman was born in Galveston to Lillian Lonis Vaughn and William Thomas Vaughn. She moved to Beaumont and then Houston. She attended St. Vincent de Paul and then St. Agnesgraduating in 1953. Barbara then attended U of H. In her 88 years, she provided an exceptional example of strength, generosity and deep faith. She was a gourmet cook who also loved a good hot dog and wore her lipstick even when riding a motorcycle at the ranch. We are all inspired by her and her husband of 69 years, Arland, who she described as the love of her life. If you were lucky enough to know her, you will miss her feeding your body and soul, her dry sense of humor and her fierce loyalty to those she loved. In lieu of flowers, Barbara asked that donations be made to Easter Seals Houston www.eastersealshouston. org; Houston Hospice www.; PSC Partners Seeking a Cure www.; St. John PaulII Foundation; St. Thomas High School or the charity of your choice. She said her only hope was that she was a good wife to her dear husband, a fair and loving mother to her seven girls, a good grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a good friend to her many best friends.
