Carol K nee Walker Banks passed away peacefully with family beside her. Carol was born March 26, 1938 in Sherman, Kansas.
She is predeceased by her mother Dorothy Poole Walker Harris and father John Alex Walker and her step-father, Robert Harris. Her father served in WW II in Germany and died in action April 4, 1945.
After the war, Carol’s mother met and married Robert Harris, an army veteran, who worked at a fertilizer plant near Sherman.
She is survived by two brothers, John Walker and Robert Harris who both live in KS with their families.
She was married in 1964 to Stephen Banks and he will miss her dearly. She raised three sons in Pittsburgh, PA and in 1988 Carol and Steve moved to Houston. Carol was pleased with snowless winters and her new home in West U.
She is survived by her three sons, Edward Banks and his wife Cindy and their two children Colin and Claire. Matthew Banks and his wife Gloria and their daughter Carolina. And Michael Banks and his wife Hilary and their three children George, Carolina and Catalina. Carol and Steve have been members of St. Mark’s Episcopal on Bellaire Blvd since moving to Houston.
Carol did volunteer work with Christian Community Service Center for over twenty-five years. She was Steve's bridge and cross word puzzle partner. They traveled to about fifty different countries since their marriage.
It was her hope that her grandchildren will fill their lives with worthwhile activities and with dreams that will be fulfilled.
In lieu of flowers a contribution to either CCSC or St. Mark’s Episcopal is suggested.
