Carol Ann Carriere Sodeika

Carol Ann Carriere Sodeika, age 53, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2018, in her beloved Houston, Texas.  She was born August 17, 1965, to James Robert Carriere and Carolyn Kay St. Cyr.  Her childhood was spent with her family in Opelousas, LA.  Carol was a 1983 graduate of Opelousas Catholic High School and then graduated from LSU Eunice with a degree in nursing; a career that she was passionate about for 30 years, during which she cared for, was loved and respected by patients from all walks of life from the local farmer to the Arabian Prince.  Carol married her husband Peter Sodeika in October 1997 and together they enjoyed traveling the US from California to New York, as well as internationally.  Carol loved art and had a flair for fashion with her signature red hair and lips.  She loved her cats and horse with the same devotion as the people in her life.  A memorial for Carol will be held at noon on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Rothko Chapel (1409 Sul Ross Street, Houston, TX 77006) with a reception following at Rivas Restaurant from 1-5pm (1117 Missouri St, Houston, TX 77006).  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Carol’s name to either SaveACatRescue.org or Vitas Hospice (tinyurl.com/ya4j40sz).
