Carolyn Gaushell Michael, 84, died on April 26, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 13, 1933 in Quincy, Illinois to Francis and Ruth Gaushell.
Carolyn attended Saint Agnes Academy, Lamar H. S. , and U. of H. She was an accomplished interior designer who volunteered at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Houston Area Dress for Success Clothing Drive. Carolyn founded Musicfest of Houston and received the Street of Dreams Design Award in Clear Lake. One of her greatest talents was bringing people together.
Carolyn is survived by her son Tom Michael and his partner Jay Clark of Chicago, as well as her “adopted” daughter Janet Scarpino-Matherne and “adopted” granddaughters Maile Scarpino, Meah and Morgan Matherne.
