Tribute

Our precious Ann Abercrombie passed away peacefully on the19th of June 2022 with family and friends with her.  She was born in Houston to Lovett and Betty Abercrombie on March 2, 1949.  She is survived by her brother Andy and his wife, Vittoria of Houston, and her cousin Alice “LaLa” Jawetz of Los Angeles, California.  Additionally she is survived by her “bonus “ children, Ricca Arterbury and husband Grant; Joely Contreras and husband Carlos; Amanda Boyles McAdams and her son Courtland; David Boyles Jr. and husband Ryan Broussard; her beloved grandson Micah Gentry and a host of loving friends.

Ann graduated from The Kinkaid School in 1967 and attended Columbia College.  She was presented by Allegro in 1969.  She was a former member of The Assistance League of Houston, and a patron of the Junior League of Houston.  She was a Broker Associate and top producer at John Daugherty Realtors, which she described as 13 wonderful years.

In the early 2000’s Ann bought a place in the country she named Country Hearts Ranch where she ultimately moved for 18 wonderful years.  Her time in the country were some of the best times of her life.  While there, she made many new friends, became part of a Bible study and a book club.  She was a member of the Bluebonnet Society of Austin County and Tearoom.  She loved the clear night skies filled with stars, the stillness of a country night, and the majesty of God’s beautiful creation.  She loved tending her many flower gardens and sharing her bounty with friends and neighbors.  She was a lover of all animals, but partial to cats.  Quite often, she would have a bottle baby calf and before she moved to the country permanently, she would bring the calf home to Briargrove to the delight of the neighborhood.

Friends are cordially invited to a Celebration of Ann’s Life from three o’clock until six o’clock in the evening with the memorial service starting at four o’clock on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Bradshaw-Carter Memorial & Funeral Service, 1734 West Alabama Street in Houston.

Crystal, diamonds, silver and gold.  She loved all things that sparkled, just as she did.  Please wear something colorful and some sparkle to the celebration of Ann’s life.  She ask that you honor her memory by the following; Give God all the glory, Give to others, Live a life full of color and joy, and Always have a pet to love.
