February 14, 1989 ~ September 22, 2020 (age 31) 31 Years Old

Tribute

Chase Andrew Clarey, 31, a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and resident of Houston,
Texas, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
Chase was born in Houston, Texas, on February 14, 1989, to Bill and Peggy Clarey. He
grew up in Atascocita playing golf often with his family and friends, and graduated from Humble
High School in 2007.
He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a degree in
Finance from the McCombs School of Business in 2011. He was a member of the Delta Tau
Delta fraternity and the Silver Spurs, where he made many lifelong friendships.
After graduation, he joined Marsh & McLennan as an analyst in their Energy Risk
Management Group. He was viewed as a rising star and became Vice President in 2017. His
coworkers would comment on his tremendous work ethic, leadership skills, charismatic
personality, and big smile.
Chase made friends everywhere he went, as friendships were always important to him.
His family will always remember his contagious laugh and compassionate heart. Chase loved
travelling, watching Cowboys and Longhorn football, cheering for the Cubs, and playing with his
nieces. He was a bright light in many lives and was taken from us too soon.
Chase is survived by his parents, Bill and Peggy; his sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay
and Ryan Hemmer, and two nieces, Brynn (7) and Briar (4); and his brother and sister-in-law,
Chris and Alex Clarey, and niece, Logan (3 months).
Memorial contributions can be made in Chase’s name to Alzheimer's Texas
( https://www.txalz.org/ ) in honor of his grandparents, William and Mary Clarey and Jay and Ruth
Hansen.
