Tribute

Frank Anthony Ragusa, 91, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2020.

Frank was born on April 21, 1929 in Houston to Jack and Mary Ragusa.  He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School where Frank obtained his pilot’s license before his driver’s license.  Frank went on to graduate from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets.  Following graduation, Frank enlisted in the US Air Force.

In 1953, Frank married “Sandy” Ciarella, and they moved to New Orleans where Frank worked for DuPont.  He fell in love with the city and would return later in life.

Family and faith were always an important part of Frank’s life.  His hobbies included: fishing, making sausage, a passion for music (he played the banjo and guitar), dancing, and was known for being a friend to all.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tony, and former wives “Sandy” Ciarella Ragusa and Luverne Tinsley Ragusa.

He is survived by his loving daughter Julia; granddaughter Amelia and her husband Lane Smith; sister Sadie Nallie; brother Jerry Ragusa and wife Julia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
