Gere Dean Bleier

Gere “Dodie” Barrilleaux Bleier, born in Houston, TX on February 4th, 1944, died from natural causes on September 14, 2022.  A lifelong Houstonian and alumni of Rice University and the University of Texas at Austin, Gere spent most of her life in this city she loved while working for the City of Houston Comptroller and for City of Houston Mayor Lee Brown.  She was well loved by her friends with whom she enjoyed an active social life and was well known for her exquisite style and taste.  She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Roger Bleier, three adoring children and their spouses, Sophia Bleier, Daniel Bleier and his wife Maria Bleier, Elizabeth Bleier-Huffstutler and her husband Keith Huffstutler, four wonderful grandchildren Noah, Jackson, Joshua and Emma, and a devoted brother, Jim Barrilleaux.  In lieu of flowers, the family askes that donations be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.  A memorial will be planned at a future date.
