John Charles “Jack” Clark died on December 16, 2018 in Pearland, TX. Jack was born September 26, 1930 to John Charles Clark and Sarah Hassell Clark in Springfield, MA. He was graduated from Springfield Technical High School in 1947 and worked as a baker for Johnson’s Baking Co. in Springfield until enlisting in the Army in 1951. Assigned to the Field Artillery at Ft. Sill, OK, he received specialized training in atomic projectiles and was honorably discharged in 1953, returning to Johnson’s Baking Co. He married Patricia Levia Godin in 1959 and went to work at the Diamond Match Co. in Springfield as an offset pressman soon after their marriage.

Jack and Pat moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1964 where he began work with the Independent Life Insurance Co. as an offset pressman and supervisor until his retirement in 1993. He also worked part time for Publix Bakeries as a baker - specializing in pastries - from 1972 to 1984.

Jack moved to Pearland, TX soon after Pat’s death in 2008 where he lived with his son Richard and his family. While in TX, Jack traveled with family to Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia; Normandy, France; London, England and Rome Italy.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Teddy and Richard Clark; an infant son, Sean Christopher Clark, and his wife, Patricia Levia Clark.

He is survived by two sons, Anthony Patrick (and his wife, Laurie Boss Clark) and Richard Michael Clark (and his wife, Amy Coco Clark); eight grandchildren, Rebecca Clark Odham, Patrick Michael Clark, Rachel Marie Clark, Isabel Rose Clark, Bernadette Coco Clark, Charlotte May Clark, John Charles Clark and Benjamin Michael Clark and one great grandson, Charles William Odham.

Jack’s interests included vegetable gardening and creating new baking recipes.
