Joseph Anton Tarantino was born January 4, 1936, in New Orleans, LA. He grew up near the water helping his father captain yachts in the harbor. Onboard a yacht he found an accordion and taught himself to play. Joe’s musical career grew from this. After a two year stint in the Army he moved to Houston where he played the piano and accordion in varied venues. Joe was featured in most of Houston’s prominent restaurants and hotels, and was popular at private parties. He and his wife, Shelley, loved playing their grand pianos together, and often entertained their friends. Joe also loved sports, travelogues and a good steak and corny puns!
He is preceded in death by wife, Shelley Baker and survived by his brothers Donald and Peter Ferry. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
