Luis Garcia passed away on September 8, 2019, while participating in the J. Pat Burleson Invitational Karate Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas.
Luis was born on September 13, 1971 in Houston, Texas, to Belia and Amado Garcia. He attended Stratford High School. Luis trained in the martial arts and received his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do under Grandmaster A. J. Cunningham, at the Houston Karate Academy. Luis continued at Houston Karate teaching children and adults the basic principles of martial arts for more than 30 years.
In his professional life, Luis achieved the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Bujinkan Taijutsu, and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Mr. Garcia’s legacy will live on through his parents, friends, colleagues and everyone whose life he touched.
The Garcia Family extends their appreciation to all of Luis’ family, friends and fellow martial artists.
Friends and family are welcome at a visitation Sunday September 15th at 10 o'clock in the morning at Bradshaw-Carter Memorial and Funeral Services at 1734 W. Alabama St. in Houston. A funeral service will begin at 1 o'clock.
