Tribute

On Friday July 24th, 2020, Lydia Ann Cress , at the age of 23, went to spend eternity with Jesus.  Lydia was born on May 22nd 1997 in Houston, TX to Ranee Cress Wright of Houston Texas and Brad Cress of Prescott AZ. She was born and raised in Tomball Texas where she attended Concordia Lutheran High School. She was an active member of National Charity League Wildflower Chapter where she served as President her senior year.  Lydia enjoyed trying new things from theater, horseback riding and cooking.  She was accepted and attended CIA (Culinary Institute of America) in San Antonio Texas.  Lydia was currently living in Sand Diego California where she was attending Bellus Academy.  Lydia loved California with the surf, sand and food.  She was committed to her recovery and involved in supporting others in their own recovery journey. She had a passion for loving and helping people, being a champion for anyone who needed a friend or a shoulder to lean on.  She loved to share her culinary talents or “do make up” for anyone who wanted to look the best version of themselves. Lydia had an infectious laugh and brought life to every room she entered. She believed in giving to others without expecting anything in return and did so out of the kindness of her own heart. She had a profound effect on the world around her and will forever live in our hearts.

Lydia is proceeded in death by paternal grandfather Bob Cress.  She is survived by dad Brad Cress, mom Ranee Cress Wright, step dad Lester Wright, step mom Jenny Ledbetter Cress, brothers Dylan and Joel Cress, half brother Jason Cress and his son Avery Cress. Step brother Jarett Wright and his wife Nancy and their 2 children Kylee and Keeson. Step brother Johnathan Wright and his finance’  Katy Herring,  step sister Jordan Wright, maternal grandparents Dale and Judy Qualls, paternal grandmother Merilyn Cress, uncles, aunts, cousins and numerous friends who love her deeply.

Viewing will be held Sunday August 2nd at Bradshaw Carter Funeral Home, 1734 W Alabama St. Houston, TX 77098 from 3- 6 pm.  Due to restrictions of COVID 19 reservations are required in order to accommodate all who wish to pay their respects.

The funeral service will be held at graveside on Monday August 3rd at 4:00 pm at Klein Memorial Park & Mausoleum 9714 FM 2920 Tomball,TX 77375 for all who wish to attend.

Stream online will be available shortly after the service concludes. 

The family will host a reception at their private home with a balloon release immediately following the graveside service.
