Maria Ilka (Marise) Monteiro Beauchamp was born September 29, 1937 in Belem do Para, Brazil. She diligently earned her DDS from the Universidade do Para where she graduated at  the top of her class and received numerous gold medals and awards. 

While working for Petrobras in Brazil, Marise went on to meet her husband Charles (Jerry Sr or Jerrão in Portuguese) Kirkland Beauchamp. They met in an elevator. They dated for 1 year before getting married in Rio de Janeiro. Their marriage lasted 48 years. 

4 years after their nuptials Marise gave birth to her only child, Jerry Kirk Monteiro Beauchamp in November of 1973. 

For the next 20 years Marise and Charles lived throughout South America. They made their primary residence in Rio de Janeiro during that time. In 1987 Marise and Charles moved back to Houston where they resided for the next 15 years. During this time Marise continued to explore her interest in continuous education by earning a Masters degree in Library Sciences from Sam Houston State University. She went on to work at Rice University for a number of years. 

In 2001 Marise and Charles chose Fortaleza, Brazil as a retirement destination. They went on to live there for the next 15 years near the company of her two surviving sisters, Ilce and Ilma. 

In 2015 they decided to return to Texas to be near their only child, Jerry. They moved directly across the street from Jerry and Tania in Sugar Land. 

Marise always had a zest for life and enjoyed music - primarily her beloved Brazilian music. She enjoyed the Carnaval season tremendously and always followed the samba school parades in Brazil. 

Marise passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.  Her faith in Jesus Christ and her strong Catholic beliefs gives comfort to those she left behind that she is now in a better place. She is survived by her husband of 48 years C. K. Beauchamp, her son Jerry Kirk Beauchamp, her sisters Ilce Almeida and Ilma Monteiro, and her brother in law Jeff Beauchamp.
