Mary Anne W. Gibbons died January 18, 2018. Born Mary Anne Wagner on January 12, 1929, she was raised in Hampton, VA and worked at the Daily Press where she met and married Howard I. Gibbons, a journalist and then NASA Public Affairs Officer who died in 1972. She is survived by their children, James Howard Gibbons of Long Island, Robert Bruce Gibbons of Brooklyn, and Anne Gibbons Eisner and son-in-law Michael Eisner of Houston; grandsons, Daniel Howard Eisner and Benjamin James Eisner of Atlanta, GA; niece Rebecca Wagner and nephew Ashley Wagner of Phoenix, AZ. Mary Anne moved to Houston, Texas in 1962 when her husband was transferred by NASA. She participated in many volunteer activities through St. Anne’s Church Circle at Christ Church Cathedral, Autry House, Girl Scouts, and the Democratic Party. Mary Anne was passionate about politics, social justice issues, as well as entertaining and cooking. 
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, Friday February 23, 2018 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Houston Compass or Christ Church Cathedral, 1117 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77002.
