The Nguyen Family Announces the Loss of Michael Hải Nguyễn

In loving memory of Michael Hai Nguyen who passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at age 59, in Sugar Land, Texas.

Michael was born on January 15, 1962 in Bảo Lộc, Vietnam to Mr. Nguyễn Đức Chiểu & Mrs. Phạm Thị Nhẫn. He came to the United States in 1975 and resided in Fort Worth, Texas.  He eventually settled down in Rockport, Texas where Michael met his love of his life, Christine, and was married for 39 years. They stayed in the Corpus Christi, Texas area for over 10 years and were blessed to become parents to three amazing children. The family moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 2003.  Michael was a devout Catholic and his family became members of Giáo Xứ Đức Kitô Ngôi Lời Nhập Thể (Christ the Incarnate Word Catholic Church). Two of the ways in which he displayed his faith and love for God and his neighbors were through cooking and gardening. He was always willing to share his great passion for food no matter the occasion and always willing to share the bountiful harvest from his garden and beautiful displays of flowers for others to appreciate. These passions he had brought family and friends together and expressed his gratitude, sacrifice, hospitality, and love for them. 

Michael is survived by his wife Christine Hong Nguyen; son Michael Nguyen and wife Mai; daughter Brittney Nguyen and husband Larry; daughter Victoria Nguyen, and the following siblings:

He was preceded in death by his parents Nguyễn Đức Chiểu & Phạm Thị Nhẫn, and sister Nguyễn Giang Christina.

A wake and visitation services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM (Family Only) at Bradshaw-Carter Memorial & Funeral Services, 1734 W. Alabama Street. Funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 8:30 AM at Giáo Xứ Đức Kitô Ngôi Lời Nhập Thể (Christ the Incarnate Word Catholic Church), 8503 S. Kirkwood, Houston, TX 77099. Burial services will follow the mass at 3:30 P.M. at Mount Olivet Cemetery Garden of Memories, 2301 North Sylvania, Fort Worth, TX 76111.

Eternal rest grant unto Michael Hai Nguyen, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
