Nancy Reistle Pierce Brumback
1955 – 2017
Nancy was born to Betty Reistle Pierce and George Foster Pierce, Jr. in Houston, TX on October 31, 1955. She was a proud member of the first graduating class of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 1974. Nancy earned an Associate of Arts degree at Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, TX and graduated from Trinity University in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, and Film. Always a trailblazer, she became the first female news video photographer in San Antonio in 1979. When she moved back to Houston, she worked as a producer at several TV stations, ending her career with HISD TV.

She is survived by her daughter Kristen Dietrich Gallagher and her husband David and their two children, Christopher and Grace who loved their Nana to the moon and back as well as her mother, Betty Jean Reistle Pierce, her sister, Ann Pierce Arnett and husband Bob and her brother George Foster Pierce, III and wife Cynthia along with her nephews, Richard Glenn Arnett and Allen Carl Pierce and his wife Juliana and her niece, Sarah Arnett Schoolar and her husband Adrian as well as her uncle Carl Ernest Reistle, III and many cousins and friends, especially Marcia Shultz who shared a 47 year friendship with many happy memories made.

Nancy was active for many years in several United Methodist Churches in Louisiana and Texas and was instrumental in caring for displaced children during Hurricane Katrina – buying and reading books to children who were brought to the Astrodome when their homes were destroyed.
She had a beautiful singing voice and shared her talents with many groups and charitable organizations. She found friends everywhere she went, whether it was across the street or across the country. She touched many lives, she will be greatly missed.
A private gathering will take place this week and later this fall there will be a celebration of Nancy’s life.
