Nicholas Anthony Mullins

Nick Mullins died peacefully on January 27, 2021 of complications from juvenile diabetes. He lived a life of integrity, generosity, and humor, filled with love and laughter. Nick shared his life with his wife of 47 years, Lois Karen Pierson, and theirs was a romance that lasted over 50 years. Nick is also mourned by his brother, Mike Mullins, and Mike's wife, Shirley, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nick enjoyed his close family ties with Lois’s brothers and their wives: Doug Pierson and Beth Leonard; Curtis Johnson and Amy Robinson; and Ken Pierson and Julie Ludwick. He was loved by nieces and nephews from both sides of the family, along with many treasured friends. Nick was a talented landscape photographer, with an eye for revealing the beauty of the natural world and the essence of world heritage sites. Nick’s photographs captured diverse travels, from African game preserves to raft trips down Mexico's Barrancas del Cobre, and from the Irish countryside to the Giza pyramids. Nick attended the University of New Mexico, had an interesting career in the wholesale produce industry, and retired several years ago. He was a fine cook and enjoyed gathering friends and family to share food and wine. Celebrations of Nick’s life are planned for later in the year in Houston and New Mexico. We look forward to sharing our memories of him though we will miss his presence, his wonderful wit, and the joy he brought to our lives.
