Ralph Richard Thompson

Dr. Ralph Richard Thompson, age 47, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully at his residence on the morning of Thursday, 16th August, 2018.

Richard was born on 22nd July, 1971 in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada. He received his bachelor’s degree from Acadia University, and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from McGill University. He completed post-doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

Richard was an award-winning writer and has published his poetry works. His scholarly work includes over one hundred academic publications.

Richard is survived by his wife Dr. Sherise Ferguson and one son Jacob.

His other family survivors include his parents Ralph and Miriam Thompson of Canada, one sister Lois, and one brother-in-law Stoi of Massachusetts, his in-laws Dr. Sparkman and Dawn Ferguson, one sister-in-law Sherelle, and one brother-in-law Sharad, all of Nassau, Bahamas.

The funeral service for Richard will be held on Wednesday, 22nd August at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. A short reception will follow at the church immediately following the service.
