Samantha Sarah Darlington Walter

August 8, 1982 ~ November 20, 2023 (age 41) 41 Years Old


Samantha Sarah Darlington Walter, 41, of Houston passed away on November 20th, 2023 after an eleven year battle with cancer.

Born in St. Petersburg Florida on August 8th, 1982, she moved with her mother and brother to the Houston area in 1996.  After attending Texas Tech University and then graduating from Baylor University in 2005, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, she worked in Dallas in a variety of sales positions, and then in Houston as a commercial real estate broker.  She continued to work as a First Vice President at SRS Real Estate Partners throughout her illness and was a local and national advocate for victims of metastatic breast cancer.  She belonged to and was very active in many civic organizations including DAR, Junior League, The MD Anderson Advanced Breast Cancer Steering Committee, the Boot Walk to End Cancer and the Gorilla Run and gave her loving time to improving others’ lives.  She was known by her many friends as an energetic, caring spirit with a passion for her dogs, art, live music, fine food, and travel, which took her to five continents and dozens of countries.

She is survived by her mother Betsy Hunter, stepfather Bill Hunter, brother Samuel “Bo” Walter, Jr., sister Rebecca Hunter, father Samuel Walter Sr., longtime partner Nick Bockhorn, as well as two nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service will be held at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer, Friday, December 1st at 3:00 pm with by a party to celebrate her life at Fusion Eats, 302 Fairview.  Donations can be made to METAVIVOR.
