Shirley R. Powers

Shirley Ritterbusch Powers, 85, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 25.  She was born in Arnold, Missouri to Hilda and Adolph Ritterbusch and lived in the St. Louis area for most of her life, moving to Houston to be near her son and family in 2017.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John F (Jack) Powers.  She will be missed by her son Jim (Lara) Powers, three grandchildren (Allison, Katherine, and Alexander), her two sisters Verna (Craig) Rose and Elaine (Jack) Hessler, and cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was appreciated for her keen observations and humor and was an avid newspaper reader who thoughtfully shared articles.  She also had a green thumb and loved colorful flowers and butterflies. 

Her life will be celebrated at a memorial service in St. Louis in the coming weeks.
