October 30, 1977 ~ January 18, 2018 (age 40) 40 Years Old


Walter Lamar Cato, treasured son, brother and friend, passed away on January 18, 2018. He
was loved by many for his quick wit, ready smile and generosity.
Lamar was accomplished in playing and engineering music. In addition to music, he loved
pond fishing, dove hunting at his family’s South Texas ranch. He had a great way with both
children and dogs.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Evelyn Stockard and Dorothy Cato, MD, he is
survived by his parents Jack and Jan Cato and his brother Coley Cato and his wife Melissa and
nephew, Henry Cato. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt Chip and Mary Anne Stockard,
Sue and David Bellamy, cousins Stan Schaefer and wife Paris, Randy Schaefer, Trey
Stockard and wife Whitney and Benjamin Stockard and wife Courtney.
For those wishing to gather in Lamar’s memory, there will be a visitation at Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home,
1734 West Alabama, Houston from five to eight o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
