James Robert Chisholm, 65, of Rosenberg, Texas, passed away in the comfort of his home after a hard-fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Friday, March 17, 2017. Born on July 18, 1951 in Joliet, Illinois, James was the youngest of three children to John and Shirley (Wills) Chisholm. He attended Lincoln Way High School in New Lenox, Illinois.

James graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and married his college sweetheart and best friend, Dena (Green) Chisholm of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1972. James and Dena moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1976 and started a family in 1978. Career opportunities took James and Dena to Houston in 2009. James worked hard to provide a wonderful life for his beloved wife of 44 years, three children, and four grandchildren.

James was extremely loving, supportive and proud of his three children, J.J. Chisholm, Jon Chisholm, and Katie (Chisholm) Allen. His positive outlook on life and sense of humor encouraged and motivated family and friends that surrounded him.

James is preceded in death by his parents and brother John Chisholm. James is survived by his wife, Dena Chisholm of Rosenberg, Texas; son, J.J. Chisholm, his wife Laura and their daughters Brooke and Elle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Jon Chisholm of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Katie Allen, her husband Scott, their daughter Lily and son Caleb "James" of Houston, Texas; sister, Carol (Chisholm) Dewitt of Clermont, Florida.

Family and friends are cordially invited to celebrate James' life at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 5501 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77004 on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 3pm.
Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525 Washington Avenue in Houston.
